CB2’s first Middle East store opens in Dubai

Furniture retailer CB2, sister brand of Crate & Barrel, has opened on the second level of Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, marking the introduction of its first brick-and-mortar outlet to the Middle East.

Operated regionally by Majid Al Futtaim, CB2 offers contemporary furniture and home décor across multiple categories, including indoor and outdoor furniture, kitchenware, bedding, lighting, rugs and accessories.

The store houses CB2’s own ranges, including the Brazilian Rhapsody collection, inspired by sun-drench modernist movements during the 1960s, and the Décor Art Capsule, which draws from the fluidity of 20th century sculptures.

“We are thrilled to be working with our partner Majid Al Futtaim to bring the CB2 brand to the Middle East, said Janet Hayes, CEO of Crate & Barrel Holdings.

“We believe that the design-forward product collection will resonate with both the international and local Emirate clientele who are searching for creative and inspired ways to transform their homes.”

Also available are designs by Kara Mann, Jennifer Fisher, Ross Cassity, GOOP and Lenny Kravitz.

Customers can use CB2’s design studio, complete with professional tools and services, to plan interior design structures.

“Through our partner Majid Al Futtaim, we’re excited to see our brand’s first international home in the Middle East,” said Ryan Turf, president of CB2.

“Our collections are an evolving exploration of modern design.

“We hope the store allows even more people to explore, dream and bring their heart’s desire home.”

The store opening follows the success of its e-commerce site and pop-up shop in the mall.

Maintaining its omnichannel approach, shoppers can continue to order CB2’s products online, with options for same-day delivery and home assembly.

“Building on the success of CB2’s e-commerce website as well as our recent pop-up in Mall of the Emirates, this new store is a continuation of our mission to pioneer new experiences both online and offline, said Fahed Ghanim, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim’s lifestyle division.

“Physical stores play a vital role in helping customers see, touch and experience products whilst creating memorable moments with friends and families and building meaningful connections with brands.

“CB2’s debut will open up more possibilities for our customers in the UAE as we look to expand our physical footprint and diversify our portfolio alongside leading international brands.”

The furniture market in the UAE is estimated to top $1.4 billion by the end of the year and $1.72 billion by 2025, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 6.91 per cent, according to market intelligence firm Statista.
