Luxury optical retailer MAGRABi has invested AED84 million to expand its operations across 14 cities in the Middle East, adding to its existing portfolio of 142 retail outlets.
Sixteen stores promoting the retailer’s mainstream brand, Doctor M, are set to open by the end of the year across Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Doctor M is “agile and responsive to customer demands and market trends”, said the retailer.
MAGRABi branches have already opened at UAE’s Dubai Hills Mall and Springs Souk, Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Park Mall and Imam Bukhari Street, Egypt’s Open Air Mall and Qatar’s Place Vendôme Mall.
Next year, 25 existing stores will see renovations and expansions with new equipment installed in test rooms.
“This investment cements our position as the region’s leading optical retail brand, in both the high-end and mainstream segments,” said Amin Magrabi, CEO of the MAGRABi Group.
“We look forward to continuing to reinvent the industry and providing our customers with a a truly unique retail experience.”
The investment will also see MAGRABi’s first fully female-staffed store in Riyadh’s Al Hamra Mall.
The venture intends to “push boundaries, empower employees and positively impact society”.
“We’re very proud to announce the opening of the region’s first female-only staffed store,” Mr Magrabi added.
“We’re driven by our positions around gender equality and empowering our female talents is a priority. Our goal is to achieve gender balance across MAGRABi by 2025.”
