Grandiose Supermarket, a leading grocery retailer in the UAE, will open a branch on the beachside promenade Al Qana, Abu Dhabi, on March 31.
The opening is part of the grocery retailer’s expansion plans and is the sixth-largest and 18th branch in the country.
The 13,690sq ft supermarket will boast Grandiose’s first integrated waterfront food hall where shoppers can enjoy food from live cooking stations serving fresh pizzas, pasta, sandwiches and shawarmas.
The grocery retailer said the “community-minded gourmet dining concept and food hall [will] invite visitors on a culinary journey, sampling food and flavours from the city, country and region, with an emphasis on the fresh and organic supplies”.
The introduction of a food hall is a promising addition to the beach promenade amid their rising popularity among consumers, says Stuart Gissing, general manager at Al Qana.
“The blend of setting up a supermarket and food hall is a trend that has grown to popularity over the past year in the UAE and the world,” he said.
“The food hall complements the plethora of other unique local and dining experiences Al Qana has to offer to become a foodie location of choice in Abu Dhabi and affirms our commitment to continually develop and introduce new and fresh ideas to the market.”
The Grandiose Food Hall was idealised with the atmosphere of Al Qana in mind, according to James Scott, CEO of the grocery retailer.
“Al Qana is such an exciting new addition to Abu Dhabi and is the perfect place for families to stroll along the boulevard, browse the aisles, and nibble on freshly made bites. Our latest location takes a lot of inspiration from the destination and hosts a plethora of community-minded experiences,” he said.
“We are particularly excited about our food hall, which does not only offer a range of fresh, wholesome items, but also gives customers the chance to take a seat and enjoy the waterfront view while they eat. The Grandiose Food Hall is actually a perfect rejuvenating area to take the family for some essential quality bonding time.”
The supermarket also houses a butchery, seafood section, cheese cave, café and bakery and stocks household items, electronics and pet essentials.
The opening will be marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday and shoppers can enjoy family and children-friendly activities in the evenings, including food sampling and face painting, until April 3.
During this time, shoppers will also be given a 20 per cent discount on total purchases.
Grandiose Supermarket plans to open more branches in Dubai at Victory Heights, Sports City and Al Barsha 1 opposite Mall of the Emirates.
