SAP recognises Majid Al Futtaim as distinguished customer  

Systems, Applications and Productions (SAP), global leader of enterprise resource planning software, recognised Majid Al Futtaim as a distinguished customer at its annual Customer Experience (CX) event.  

SAP commended Majid Al Futtaim’s efforts to keep pace with the digital age and enhance shoppers’ experiences with real-time technology.  

SAP has implemented multiple digital solutions for Majid Al Futtaim, such as CarrefourNow, Carrefour Hypermarket’s express one-hour delivery service.  

In addition, SAP deployed Carrefour’s Scan&Go technology, which allows customers to scan and pack items as they shop, saving their time at checkout tills.  

Also launched by SAP was Carrefour’s digital platform in 2018 which integrated all products available on its website and mobile. 

For this, Majid Al Futtaim was awarded The International Omni-Channel Transformation of the Year in 2019.  

Abdullah Saqqa, head of customer service at SAP, said at the time: “Majid Al Futtaim demonstrates how a home-grown UAE brand can compete on a regional and global level thanks to the power of digital transformation and e-commerce innovation.” 

Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to e-commerce has helped maintain its business during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.  

In the first six months of 2021, Majid Al Futtaim’s revenue rose 25 per cent alongside a 50 per cent increase in online orders, Arabian Business reported.  

Alain Bejjani, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim, shared with the Business of Fashion website last year that the rise in e-commerce sales was a sign of recovery after the uncertain economy caused by the pandemic.
